November’s news and updates

Today is December already, the last month of the year. How time flies!

November flew so fast that I didn’t see December coming. I realised that I didn’t write anything last month, I wondered why and then I realised that there are some important changes lately.

First, I told you in my last posts that I was returning back to the office and I would have to get on well with the absence of my two dear colleagues. It was the case. The first weeks of November were the busy ones. My client gave me a new project to work on, I had many new things to learn. At the same time, I was struggling to adapt to the new rythme, to remember which days I have to get up earlier and go to work versus which days I work at home.

Ironically enough, yet I started to get used to my new rythme, we… switched back the full remote. Well, yes, since this week, because of the plummeting pandemic contaminations, we are staying home again, hoping to have a Christmas and New Year Eve holiday without restriction. It feels like 2020 all over again.

Second, the first part of November ran quickly as I had some gatherings with my friends, it had been a while (well, I was in the “New normal” mood, remember ?). I also took some days off to travel to Limoges with my husband go to see my father-in-law.

Third, it has been an important month for my husband (and me also) because he has started a new career chapter: he finished his job last October to become a freelancer. As a consequence, I also helped him to prepare his papers and interviews. There are some ups and downs finding his new job.

The last reason is about our cat. Well, long story short, he has been under a treatment for FIP (feline infectious peritonitis). He already got the daily injections during 3 months his summer and he was about finishing his last day of the observation phase. We were so closed to declare that he won the FIP.

Sadly, the last two weeks, he has been weak. At first we thought that he had a otitis, which prevents him to walk and move correctly. However, two days ago, his condition deteriorated drastically, he has his paws paralysed and can’t stand on his paws. I had to get him hospitalized. He has very likely a FIP relapse.

Last time he has a humid form (abdominal ascite). A relapse means the virus is present in his head and attacks his nervous systems. If it’s the case, we will have to start over again the entire cycle of FIP treatment (84 daily injections/stings with a stronger dosage + 84 observation days with monthly checkups). He already had his two injections, we are waiting for his improvement to confirm that it’s a relapse. Otherwise he has another illness.

In one word, November has been an up and down month. There are many changes and challenges that we are facing.

I hope December will bring us many good news.

I hope that we will get good news for my husband’s work, our innovation project and especially for our dear cat.

About Blue (my cat), if it’s a FIP relapse, the bad side is that the neurologic form is very tricky, trickier than the humid form. The good side is that we know pretty well how to give him the stings. I also recall myself that he was supposed to died six months ago, it’s already a miracle that we have access to the new treatment and have him with us until now (one day, I will tell you the whole story). If we succeed the first treatment cycle, there is no reason that we won’t get over the second one 🙂

Well, let’s see what December will bring us. Fingers crossed!
